   Very good, am big Doc Watson fan. Like the slide , has more  blues to it than flat picking.

  Yes, great fun, tis it not, Keith. Ah been playin open tunings/slide since ah was  since 16. You should try DADGAD, open up a MODAL world on 6 string. Bert Jansch/Davey Graham teritory. Open E and open D =same fingering for BOTH. Same for open G and open A. These are same tunings, only a tone apart. 

  Open C a nice "light/bright" tunin CGCGCE, take the e to e flat, ya got Cm. Could go on, but Clock gonn appear and shirik" me for gettin technical Any questions on open tunings, pm me.
