First vid playing Double D. Octave Dd tuned, oak balluster neck, Klangbox Diddley Bug flat pickup. I could use more practice, but no time for a better take. ...

Thanks Roadkill. Your recent build inspired me to think about a twin baluster neck. I think I may give that a try even though it doubles the cost!
I'm trying to keep the strings on this one as close as possible without them slapping each other silly. It's an ugly sound when that happens.
A little of the buzzing on this video is from the strings kissing the pickup. Most of it is on the slide when I don't dampen the strings just before laying it down again. Timing, they say, is everything.
Thanks Keni. 3 coats of paint - white, blue, red in that order - then lots of sanding to remove almost all of it. I didn't prep the oak neck very much at all before painting. I wanted deep grain to hold the different colors.
Thanks everyone. Elmar has sent me a new Diddley Bug that should be hotter than the original design. I should have it in my mailbox in the next few days and I can't wait.
Brickdust, I'll take 2 outta 3. I really like this guitar and I thought it was going to be one for just hanging on the wall. I've had it around for a few months and it just sounded numb until I made a few little tweaks. Originally the sound would go away as soon as the slide hit the strings. A new bridge arrangement solved that pretty well. This is also the first time I've used a mag pup and I love it.
