Steve Earle is one of may favorites and now that I have a mandolin it was obvious I had to use it on this tune of his. Ashton cbg doing double-duty, on the main acoustic rhythm and also the electric parts, plus the mandolin of course.

  • Thank you Richard, much appreciated, this is a fun one to play. Thx! :)

  • Very nice cover. I like the mix of the rythem parts and electric lead. You did the Ashton proud.
  • Thanks Rock! Tuned to DGBE.

  • Very cool one of my favorit pieces too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tuned GDGB?

  • Hi Bob and thanks a bunch! Much appreciate your comments. The Ashton is shorter than I normally build. The box is short so I went with a 23 1/2" scale as an experiment. I have an old 3/4 scale guitar from my youth with a similar scale length and it turns out I like it a lot on this cbg. All my others are normally 24 3/4".

  • Awesome pic Nancy! And thanks so much for listening and the kind comments.

  • LOL Thank you, Dave. I know just enough to be dangerous!

  • Fantastic job Derek! You really nailed it as you always do. Thanks and keep the vids coming. One question, what scale do you have on that AsHton?
