Awesome. Those are two great looking and sounding instruments. I recently bought my tin ukulele from Rhyan and love it too. Fella's got skills and no doubting it.
Thanks Greg and I like your ethos. My kids in my schools love all this stuff. I have them playing kalimbas and one-string guitars and not a computer or iPad in sight!!!
Oh, by the way, I'm an art teacher and I take in cigar box guitars to share with students and faculty. I have had complete support in my school. I show everything from my cigar box, gourd and canjo's made from beer cans and other canisters. When presented in the right way, it is all about learning. I always talk about the negative effects of smoking and drinking. I don't recommend the students make a beer canjo, but I will supply boxes for them to build with. Since I promote reusing and fabricating from found objects, these are all part of the materials that can be salvaged. This year I had students build: a canjo from a coffee tin, hammered dulcimer from cigar box, rain stick from a long cardboard tube and toothpicks, a cajone from plywood and rattles made from clay.
I see it as not promoting coffee, smoking or anything else. It is more about seeing the aesthetic beauty in these things. My two cents...
Keep sharing this with your students!
Very nice work and well made video, too.
Cig R has a nice recommendation from you!
I have made a couple tin box guitars and I haven't been pleased with my results, but Cig R's is really nice. Great box, too.
Thanks for sharing
