Got my flatpup 1 in the mail today and installed it on my boat paddle. This is just through my crappy computer speakers, but even THAT sounds good. These flatpups RAWK!

  • Yep flatpups rock alright. Elmar is the man. Sounds like you nailed the intonation on that paddle bass. That is the most important thing to me. Nice playing.

  • Got it, thanks man!

  • I used finish nails. They have the right height for bass frets. Dremel cut-off wheel to size them, then ground the edges with the same wheel. Kept the head on the nail for aesthetics. Small round file to cut the merest of channels for them, then epoxy.

  • Turned out really nice Craig! Sounds amazing!!! Did you use regular fret wire??? I am going to build one for a friend and was debating on what I was going to use for the frets.

  • SWEEEET!!!! i love the use of the double hook coat hanger on the bottom too!!! all around excellence!!! sounds great and well played!

  • Sweet! That does rock!

  • Thanks everyone! Everything is a potential instrument now. Look out, dining room chairs and tv trays!

  • Ahh, love the tail piece.  Good idea.  Cool instrument.
