Not a perfect video and I am having trouble with my phone mic recording an even level. Might be noise reduction probs.Anyway, a couple of us have been discussing finger picking and I have talked about a clawhammer adaptation or two that I use so here's a demo of what I'm calling "blueshammer" on my 5-string Sawzall Box Dobro.I change up between a pattern of thumb, strum, pick and strum, pick thumb depending on the song. I like this with the bass note on the thumb instead of a banjo drone string. I'm still working on my finger picking and adding little melodic embellishments. New thing for me to practice.Often instead of a proper strum, I will hit the strings with the backs of my fingernails causing them to click on the upper frets. Makes a nice snare beat.It gets both the guitar and banjo players lookin' at you funny. :)

  • B~Finger this is one of your best!!! Cool low vocals and beat is right on!!! Jeez I will be singing this all day now lol~Meeowwwww^.^306445431?profile=original

  • Thanks Clock, James and Tom.

Clock, I saw a guy playing a cajon with a fan rake type thing.  :)

James, I don't have a delay (I play this guitar mainly acoustic), but I have an amp with nice reverb.  I'll have to try that out.

Thanks Tom.  That hat is underappreciated in my house.  "Dork-hat" is probably more often used than "player", but it is growing on everyone.  I got my daughter a nice Kangol Player hat on sale for $13 and she wore it for her orchestra concert last night.  She plays upright bass.

  • Nice playing and singing Bad Finger! You do look like a player.
  • Blues Hammer cool man I sometimes use that drum beat finger picking sound to adding Delay makes it really come out sounding good Man

  • SUPERBIGPLUSMEGAWOWCOOOOOOOOOL!!!

  • Thanks Wes.

Jim, the hat does help.  I used to think I was a pork pie guy, but it turns out I'm a player.  :)

  • I'm workin' on it Eric. Woulda had it done by now but I can't find my Badfinger Blueshammer hat. Need that for this!
  • Thanks Jim. Can't wait to hear your 3 string song.

  • Nice Eric! I've almost got it for 3 string. Not sure if I'll be nailing those snare hits quite as hard as you do though!
  • Thanks pick, Gary and Uncle John.  :)
