I decided to build one of the American Banjo Kits from Carver Banjos. This is the sixth video in a series that will cover all the steps involved in building the banjo. During this episode, I do the final assembly and play it for the first time. This is the first time I've ever played a 5-string banjo.

You can buy this banjo kit here: https://carverbanjos.com/product/americana-banjo-kit/

There's a playlist that contains all the videos in this series here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwIixlr7C6KVG1LV-W4W8KxblRgMHnzG5

  • Interesting build! I thoroughly enjoyed watching you put it all together. The leather tailpiece seems unusual to me, but it seems too work just fine. I’m not sure I would like friction tuners either. Easy and stable tuning is important to me and well worth the extra expense. The project looks very doable and the banjo looks and sounds great. Well done!!!
  • Ha ha. Thanks BrianQ.

  • Right on!! Check that off the list!

  • Thanks t-belly. I'm guess these strings will be a pain for a few days but they'll settle eventually. I've already got a new bridge on order so watch for that vid.

  • Well it looks good, sounds good too!

I guess it`ll be even better once the strings settle. Nice work
