Hi Jeff,    To build the body I used 1/8" bendable Birch {wiggle wood} plywood for the sides, and the top and bottom are made from the back side of a piece of   1/4" Luan plywood underlayment. When I saw this piece, all I could see is the guitar body in it. By the way, I"m a carpenter also.I copied the shape from Taylors T5 semi hollow body. I cut the top and bottom together, cut the wiggle wood to 1 1/2" and dry fit the sides. Even though the wiggle wood is very flexible, I still had to use a heat gun to bend the tight horn radius. Through the center of the body is a 3 1/2" solid piece of pine that goes from the neck to the tail piece, and it is tappered like a hour glass to shave off some weight. I also notched it out for the pickup, which I'm going to install after I finish this letter. I made a small access panel on the back for  installation of the volume control and the jack. However the pickup is an undermount and I'm not sure if I can get it in,going to be interesting, There is a lot to consider when building a CBD This is my 5th build.  I have made a lot of mistakes along the way, and learned a lot also.
