Hi all , really new to CBG making . Now on my second guitar and was wondering on string spacings for 3 strings across the fretboard.Do I centre the middle string and devide the distance to the edge or space the outer strings close to the edge ? My fret boards are 2" wide. Thanks y'all..Clive
Thanks y'all. It seems to me (and this what I enjoy about making these things) is there really are no rules. If it looks good, feels good and gives satisfaction especially if you have never done anything similar.....do it

What are you using for nut & bridge? If you use a bolt or similar object with threads, you can adjust it easily enough to find what suits you. I put the middle in the middle and the two outer strings a little closer to the outside but equally spaced. If you haven't played all your life you'll find that you get used to your first few builds and that becomes "normal" for you...
Maybe another way to look at it is to find other guitars whose spacing you like, and measure. I would say that a full 2 inch neck is probably a little wide for comfortable playing, but that is my own preference: I use 1x2 for necks, which are actually only 1.5" wide, and find them comfortable for both 3 and 4 string playing, spread mostly evenly.
