String Height for my first build ??

Getin into my first Cigar Box Guitar build. What are thoughts on the typical starting point for string height? I'm starting to think about making the nut, and am wondering about height. I plan on using this 3 stringer mainly for slide, but I may also add frets.Phil

    Thanks ... I put it together last weekend, and used a nut height of about the depth of a quarter. The bridge height is much higher. Better to start high and grind down!

    Hey Phil. For slide I like 1/4" top and bottom. its a touch shorter due to the slot depth and the cavity I grind out underneath the nut.(just enough to seat it tight)I will be trying frets soon and Ill be figuring out as I go. I did a guitar nut once and i ground it till it felt right.
