These are some of the finest cigar box guitars I've ever built. "The King" is a 4-string model with a blues-laden Lipstick Tube pickup (just like old Silvertones and Danelectros). Each is strung for a grinding Open E tuning and has fret markers on the side of the neck for ease of playing.

I've added three more of these to the store this week. One features a salvaged wooden 7-Up advertisement as the fretboard. I've added more of the budget series guitars to the online store. These are all great playing 3-string acoustic/electrics (yes, they have internal contact mic pickups) with salvaged yardstick fretboards. They play just as great as the more expensive models and are gig-worthy.

The Octavia Olivia: a one-of-a-kind "octave chugger"

After I finished all of the guitars I had planned for the Holiday Season, I took a look around my woodshop at the remaining parts: An unfinished neck from the summer tour season. An oak fretboard. A golden cigar box with a beautiful Spanish lady on the art.

Cobbled together, these remaining pieces became a uniquely amazing instrument I call the Octavia Olivia. It's set up like my 2-string Chugger cigar box guitars, but it has an additional octave string on the lower note. This gives it a more lush sound, similar to an octave mandolin. There's a demo video in the link. I filmed the video in my woodshop just 5 minutes after stringing her up. Shop the Octavia Olivia (or at least click to see the demo video).
