  • I am also new to CB Nation. I am still reading & learning about CBG's and look forward to being on this site. I finished one am starting another one. My brothernlaw & nephew loved the CBG. They are accomplished players. They made it sound sweet!
  • John...New to CB Nation and lovin' it! I'm a pedal steel player, so slide CBG's fit right in to my gig...
  • Diamondback here from Diamondback Guitar Shop. I've been building since the end of the summer and absolutely can't stop. I LOVE the sound of each new instrument, but the fun, for me, is building each guitar (and soon amps) and getting experience for the next.
  • Hi y'all-

I have been making CBGs since June 2004, and have been playing the diddley bow (a board with nails driven in each end, and a piece of broom wire stretched between them as a string) as my main axe since August 2006. The starting place for my diddley bow playing was when when Shane Speal talked me into buying the CD "One String Blues" by Eddie "One String" Jones. I built a replica of Eddie Jones' instrument and have been trying to figure out how to make music on one-string ever since. I am currently about one song away from an all-diddley bow CD. If you wanna talk diddley bows, I'm your man!

Note that I do occasionally play instruments that have more than one string, but as time passes, it gets increasingly confusing to know what to do with them all....

And finally, note that if you Google "One String Willie," there are two of us. One of us is more intelligent, the other is better looking. I am the one who does not play a standard guitar with just one string.

    Best regards, Willie
