Well, I had a serious brain fart today.  I'm making the Mini Taser Teddley Bow.  I made the one string humbucker and cut the mounting holes for it and made the rear cavity to access the pup.  Next…Continue

I'm a luthier and inventor of weird instruments, pickups, mics, stompers and other gear for musicians and luthiers. I also enjoy helping people build and repair their own instruments and have been online every day since 2003 giving advice and encouragement. Need a hand with something?  Just ask!!

I host the Handmade Music Clubhouse, a forum similar to this for builders and players of all types of handmade instruments.  I'm member # 1 at the Nation and helped shape it here until I founded the Clubhouse to include every instrument and builder.

I've put together instructional videos plus performance vids of a lot of artists filmed all over the country on TedTV / CBG TV.

From email with Keith:

"Ted, I looked on your web site and just fell in love with this guitar...  Can’t remember for the life of me how I stumbled upon the Honey Dripper but serendipity is a splendid thing.  Guitars like yours keep me connected with the basics, the simplicity, the earthiness and undeniable sexiness that is the electric guitar.  Yes, I have had a good play on the Honeydripper and it’s certainly got some serious mojo. I love it.  Cheers for now brother."

Hi Ted,  Happy New Year . Took your advice and visited Harbor Freight .Apologies if I slowed their computer system down! For fun I entered my partial UK postcode into the Zipcode .... Hey Presto I'm now aware that I'm only 200 miles away from 41 USA stores LOL! mmmm, how about visiting the Des Moines ,Iowa store... just enter my UK address for driving directions....35 minutes later .... asked me to re-enter my home address :-D

hi ted. thank you for your previous advice. i have a new question. i bought some old switches from ebay, from a jeep, just on/off. i'd like to use them for pickups, two electric, two piezo. can i run the grounds to all four switches, with a master going to the jack, and the four hots to the switches? will this create a ground loop or any other problems? i'd like to create a unique way of mixing the pickups. the switches are perfect for a cbg, with nice threaded collars. thank you for any feedback. dan.

Ted, I have a question.

I recently received a 4x4 rafter that was hand hewn by my great great grandfather and used in his log house.  I'd like to use some of it for a CBG neck.  It's made of loblolly pine.  Is there any reason I shouldn't use it?

I'm planning to laminate either a purpleheart or lacewood fretboard to it.

this is a great video ted!  i'm still having an issue with the solder taking to the piezo!  Not sure i have the right solder.  Also the piezo i have is out of a new smoke detector,  it had a green film over the ceramic centre and the outside is bare metal. I'm not sure if its the piezo or the solder. any in put as rookie as it may be, i am all ears.

Geez..I don't know what I did wrong but I can't find the message you sent with the friend request. My cbg has EAD strings & was wondering what to tune it to without the fear of breaking something. I was thinking of dad....that way I'm dropping down only I step on the E.
