"Hi Robert, yes to what Blind Doughboy has said. I also place the cone in position, push down on the centre (bridge position) so simulate string pressure, then with the other hand I tap around the cone where it contacts the top using a finger, so as…"

Blind Doughboy replied to Robert Bryan's discussion Mounting resonator cones
"I personally wouldn't use the type of cone that screws to the top. The whole point of a reso cone is that it floats on the lip of a tone ring (or sound well). Not being connected - screwed on glued to anything - allows the cone to do what the…"

Mounting resonator cones

i built my first resonator using a spun aluminum cone and was happy with the sound and tone however I didn’t have the right size screws to mount the steel cover at first. Once I did get the cover on it seemed the volume and maybe the tone had been reduced. The cone just sits on the top and without the cover is held there by the tension from the saddle the same as in a normal guitar. The cover screws go through the lip of the cone and so hold it tight to the top. I am going to take the top off…See More

"I've had good luck removing the "My Father's Cigar" decal by using a heat gun (carefully) to warm up the underlying glue. Once you get a corner up, just continue to apply a little heat under the decal to help it along. A hair…"

"If you’re doing neck-thru with the open side of pan up,wich I recommend.  then you haven’t anything to worry about bcuz you’ll be mounting pickups in the neck body. With that said I would use anything you want "

"Metals of all types can have effects on pickups either for good or bad. Even non magnetic metals can have an effect on the magnetic field, you just have to try it out and see."

BrianQ. replied to Robert Bryan's discussion Pickups for bedpan guitar?
"You’ll want a warmer sounding pickup to offset the bright sound that bed pan’s gonna produce. Try a flatpup style or juke shack from C.B. Gitty, they’re pretty affordable & sound great. Good luck on your build "

Paul Craig replied to Robert Bryan's discussion Bedpan pickups
"P90's, Lipstick Tubes,Tele pickups, Strat pickups, Gold Foils and mini-buckers have all been used with a great following for reso type guitars. Flatpup pickups would be a good choice and piezo's would work great too. The big issue you may…"

Everything, love the sound, love the idea of reusing mateirials. Am hoping i can learn 3 or 4 string easier than a six string guitar. It should go well with my blues harmonica playing
