"Brian, thanks for the advice, I am trying not to obscure/ damage the top of the tin. I was going for a 25.5 sale, but as you have suggested will try different scale length templates to see where the 15the and 18th frets lay."

"If you're only bringing the frets to the can and not extending over it then I think 15 would be plenty. If your extending the fretboard over the tin, then do 18."

"What’s your scale length? You could make a template of the fret placement & lay it on the neck to see where the 15th & 18th lay? Or you could glue a fretboard on top of the neck that will sit atop the box without cutting into…"

Hi David, sorry I forgot it because I was in hurry. Look at my side, I added two pics of the case. The inside was lined with genuine 100 dollar bills and a much more genuine map. No, unfortunately not quite right. The frame was made of 5mm and the two plates from 3mm strong birchplywood. After being covered with a coffee sack or jute bag, an inner frame of 2mm laminated wood was placed in the outer frame to cover the edges of the jute sack fixed at this point. Best regards Schorsch

Remembrance

We quite often see photos of 1st world war troops with homemade instruments on this site , so I thought I would share the link below to the events which took place across the UK to commemorate the 20,000 thousand British soldiers who were killed on the first day of the Battle of the Somme, which began 100 years ago on on July 1, 1916. Ultimately 1 million troops were liked or injured in this battle alone, with big losses on both sides, at the end of the battle, there were 485,000 British and…
