What a great idea! I might try a design like that, but WITH the wheel still on...good for hauling it around these Ozark hills. I work at the Ozark Folk Center, and this would be a real folky thing to show the visitors! Are you able to easily remove the top to do the extra bracing? yep, 6 cubic feet of thumptastic fun. i have it set up for bluegrass and rockabilly. i want to make a fiberglass or wood archtop this summer. i'm currently considering additional bracing to the top. the bassbar is of conventional design but "conventionally" the top is arched and therefore stronger. i get a couple millimeters sag under the E foot with my current strings.

i have the carriage part of it set up so i can set the bass on top and wheel it around.

Looks great! Is that made from a wheelbarrow?? Hmmm, I think I have one in my "resource yard"....
