Instead of soldering the piezos to a direct output cable, the wires are attached to a simple microprocessor which converts the voltage values into midi signals. When connected to a PC with a Software DAW (digital audio workstation) like Garageband or CuBase it acts like an electric drumset with two programmable drums (e.g. bass drum and HiHat)...It was just a quick built (parts around 14$)...but it works quite well.
