My recommendation: wear a mask! Exotic wood allergies can be really nasty. I've developed a pretty bad reaction to padauk and purpleheart and it is no fun at all. My big respirator was money well spent.

My brother sent me several pieces of both and I now have purpleheart and bloodwood dust imbedded everywhere including me.
