Is that an Alnico V rod magnet? I would assume then that the N/S poles are at ends of the
rod magnet? That would make the magnetic steady state flux similar in the coil? I think this
is similar to what DeArmond used in their pickups, where the rod magnet actually was adjustable
in height by a set screw.
