  • Just give the strings some time to "settle". Actually, after using the "direct" tuners for some time I'm starting to get impatient with the gearead ones. Too many turns... ;-)

  • I was surprised at how quickly a string was brought into tune - in a few turns. It hasn't been put together long enough to know how well they will hold the tuning.

  • there's a screw in every tuner's head. You just tighten it and the headstock's wood is squized between the metal upper part and te plastic head from the other side. Correct tightening is the key. You should be still able to rotate it, but it should keep the string's tension. Way harder to tune, because there's no transmission gear. But almost as cool as the violin pegs ;-)
