Please Help

I'm trying to make this into an amp.I soldered the ground wire to the volume pot and the positive to the middle 'prong' on the volume pot.After doing this I can still hear the radio as well as the guitar.Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong please.

    That's odd isn't it?Im going to try something next week that I think will work.I will let you know if it works.I think these will make a really cool amp.

    I have the same Radio, that I just tore apart.  Trying to make an Amp.  I have the radio coming through also!!
