M, I do make the fretboard, at theHomeDepot i've found 1/4"x6"x36" oak and/or poplar stock for under $10... you can get 4 fretboards out of this size stock. i've loaded some pics for ref of cutting them for a radius-ed result. if you are leaving it without a radius, the stock is already cut to an perfect (to me) thickness.

This is really nice how did you cut the fret board so thin? or did it come that way...I'm having all kinds of trouble trying to cut them on my table saw..
