The reverb tank in my old Peavey Bandit 65 was unusable. The springs were so sloppy and loose that any vibration would make it rumble, crash and roar. Couldn't even play very loud because of it. I ordered a replacement and decided to tear into the old one while I wait for it to get here. after removing the bad unit I cut about 1/2" off the loosest spring. There is a metal clip holding the springs together and I couldn't salvage it. I bent new loops on the ends of the springs and hooked them together. Then I put a drop of super glue on the joint and sprinkled baking soda on it. Gave it two coats of glue and baking soda. Then I glued a section of each spring to add tension and reduce the excessive slack in the springs. See other New Life for Old Reverb Tank picture.
