yeah, just use a factory guitar. Do it just like you described. I finished my neck completely before i glued it to my box. Sounds like you have all the right ideas. Can't wait to see it.
Im not really sure how big my sound hole is right off hand, i just grabbed the first hole saw i could find. I'll check it out tomorrow, and let u know. If u do cut f-holes, let me know what u used, i ruined a box trying.
