The finished project ... I've used 3/16" rivet flanges for the string ferrules, and a guitar pick punched out with a hole punch for the fret position markers. The side fret position markers are made from white plastic knitting needles. The neck is finished with gloss black paint, and three coats of shellac to give it a nice sheen. I stained the fret-board ebony black. I used brass fret wire for this build, and professional nut and saddle (plastic).
