  • THIS "WEIRD" LOOKING THING WITH THE TYPEWRITER KEYS, IS CALLED AN "INDIAN BENJU" (BANJO), ALSO CALLED "BULBUL TARANG", & THE GERMAN WORD FOR IT IS "AKKORDOLIA". THIS INSTRUMENT USED TO BE V.E.R.Y POPULAR, ESPECIALLY AROUND ABOUT THE 1910´s TO & ABOUT THE 1930´s. ITS SIMILAR TO THE SCHEITHOLTZ & THE DULCIMER BUT NOT THE SAME.
I GOT ONE OF THE AKKORDOLIA TYPE MADE IN GERMANY. MADE BY OTTO TELLER & GLASS PROBABLY
    AROUND THE 20´s.
  • That's the coolest thing ever . . . I've never seen one of these!
  • I had one of those around 30 years ago I don't know what became of it. It was a lot of fun to play. I think mine came from India.
  • No, I didn't make it, but had to make a new bridge for it.

Check out my recent comment on the Dulciworld group for more about it.
