  • Thank you. You know, I wish some of the other greats like Duane Allman, Johnny Winter, etc would have done more rural type bottleneck. Eric Clapton and Duane Allman's cover of Mean Old Blues is one of my favorites. A whole album would of been very special. Johnny has some great stuff too, like TV Mama. Have you ever hear Sam Mitchell's CD?

Always been one of my favorites. A real mix of bottleneck styles.

    Enjoy.

  • Keni...

I'm sure the majority of people who visit this site would agree ....that YOU do a much better job of representing/honoring Robert's work than E.C. When his "Me & Mr. Johnson" cd came out, I was interested in it only because I had read how much RJ had influenced Eric (I'm not a Clapton fan)....I gave it a brief listen at a music store & walked away. I understand it may be Eric's way of doing some of Robert's work...but I was lookin' for a bare bones tribute...acoustic guitar and voice....just like Robert did....just like you do...oh yea, you use a box, stick and 1/2 the strings...and it works!

  • LOL

    I just came across this.

Now those are some big shoes to fill, but considering the general animosity here on the Nation about Mr. Clapton that I have recently became aware of, I completely understand.

    Although, I will state this:

I would of named my album, "Mr. Johnson and Me", not the other way around. LOL

    Thanks. Enjoy.
