  • Nah, I drilled holes through the neck hoping it would help the sound. It's a really solid piece of oak and I figured it might help to not dampen any sound. Probably didn't help.
  • What are all of those holes in the neck? Did you drive screws through them to secure the neck to the bottom of the box?
  • They're a very skinny loose spring I picked up from American Science and Surplus. I wanted to see if I could get the affect from those childrens microphones that have a spring in them. The plastic ones that make your voice echo for a long time. These springs do give a sustained wa-wa for a while but it's not that big. I'm going to try a fatter loose spring, maybe 3/4 diameter to see if I can get some serious acoustic reverb. Should work in theory- in theory.
  • great idea! how effective are they? are they the springs for screen doors?
