my first 4 string...tuner it like a tenor guitar, my dad plays the tenor bango and going to give it to him for his 91st birthday next month....it will be a lot quieter fo him to play in his apartment...

  • he was a fan on anyone that played...he played tenor banjo for barn dances on the canadian border, i know my mom's cousin played guitar and a canadian guy played a fiddle/mandolin. that cousin introduced him to my mother...i actually think i seen an old record(maybey a 78?) of George Formby.
  • 91! That's great, Carl. Was he a contemporary of George Formby, a 4-string banjo player from the 30's? Did you post that Formby video? I really enjoyed it. I was just wondering. I remember Spike Jones on tv in the '50's. Did he play tenor banjo, or was it somebody else in his band? Thanks!
