  • Yes, I grounded the strings on the tail. Why???? I don't know... it made sense at the time.

    You need a "Bridge ground" in order to bleed off the 60 cycle hum, especially with multiple pickups. The strings vibrating within the magnetic fields generates current ( as you probably know ). The tail is a convenient location to run a ground wire when you are using a floating bridge. I just know it works for me... and when I'm asked if the strings are grounded, I simply grunt & point.

  • Did you earth the strings on tail fret if so why ,I was wondering what the extra wire was for on my pickup setup.
