Hal...sorry it took so long to reply. I'm also using the Testors decal paper. I'm getting the ridge around the paper too. Here's a link to a video of how one person puts on the decals. He uses vinegar to get ride of the ridge.
Bill, that looks nice. What decal paper do you use? When I make mine (Testors decal paper from hobby store) and spray a coat of lacquer on as a fixative over the ink jet printing, I always get a ridge around the image and it seems no matter how many coats I spray after applying the decal, it always stands out.
