I have suspected that the eye bolts are part of the problem
I used slotted screws at first and then switched to the eye bolts
The buzz did go away a little after that
I may also be partly at least just can rattle like Grizz suggested
There are so many issues that it could be and maybe a combination of a few I just have to address them one by one
Hey I saw a great link on string buzz yesterday. It may have to do with your nut/bridge... try to make the slots for the strings fit snugly around them. \_/ = wrong |_| = wrong make it like this ""*.,.*""
I've tried the first and sixth string, the smaller string has less noticeable buzz but the , going to try the 4th string next
I'm pretty sure that the flaw is in the design of the head
It has a natural scarf that you can't see in the photo but I think that the eye bolt I'm using for a bridge is still not high enough to break the string
So instead of acting like a bridge is is acting more like a loose fret
The finger board is also not perfectly flat so in some positions I get a buzz like you would if one of your frets were too high
It's looking like I am going to have to take it apart and try to plane out the fret surface
Is it a string buzz or is the kit vibrating somehow? From what you're saying sounds like a string buzz.
Maybe a different thickness string may help, or a shim to raise the action a little.
Yeah that mess kit D-Bo would be my favorite if I could get the sound and action right
It's got a buzz I can't get out and the string has to be so tight it is about to break just to get it to sound like something
The mess kit was mine in the army 30 years ago and the stick is from either a ligustrum or ficus hedge that I found in an attic , it had been there at least 15 years and the hedge row it must have come from was about 75 years old
