  • Thanks, I'm pretty sure I borrowed the idea from photos here. The headstock works with my limited skills/tools. I was worried it was too thin, but another one I made @ a year ago is holding up fine. Just don't use brass screws for string guides, they are too weak. See the way the guides aren't in line, I broke off a brass screw, replaced them both with steel. Too much form not enough function!

  • Thanks, this one turned out well, though each one is a learning activity. This is for the holiday gift exchange at my job at county mental health. I figured the gift of music was the best thing for one of my coworkers. The brick house box has some great tone. I doubled up to brace the neck inside the box as I cut too deeply for the box relief. I think that helps it sound better maybe? Anyway, it is much fun to make the CBGs, my next project for me is a tenor ukulele. I've got the strings already as an inspiration. I am grateful to all that post their work to inspire us to keep trying our ideas and learning new skills.
