I wanted to make a 14 year old 'Appalacian' antique, found on the trail by a former Carolina governor while jogging (actually he was hanging out with his mistress in Argentina!). I sanded down a Padron, and aged it with shredded steel wool and white vinegar mixture (thanks to Charles Atchison's book suggestion). The sound hole cover is a $1 chrome steel potato masher I hacksawed. Cut the single coil holder from a sheet of aluminum. This one is my best sounding box yet. Sounds GREAT acoustically and electrically. I just plugged it into my new 'TRIO' stomp box, and after playing a 3 chord change, INSTANT DRUMS AND BASE WITH FILLS, PLAYING IN TUNE WITH WHAT I JUST PLAYED, with 10 style choices and 10 genre choices. This is a GREAT little box for one man cigar box players. Just lettin' ya'all know what's out there!
