I glued a 1/4" piece of Red Oak to the bottom of the Poplar stick to strengthen it…I could have used it for the fretboard, but I wanted to try something different. I think next time I will use it as a fretboard since I still can't get the action perfect and I could use raising the fretboard by about an 1/8" to get it perfect.
