This type of Arturo Fuente box is very thin but I had two of them. I cut out the bottom of one, the top of the other, and glued them together with wood reinforcing strips on the sides. This gave me the deeper resonating cavity I wanted. The construction and finish of this uke is rougher than the others I've made but I think that gives it it's own kind of cool. I've finally realized that I'm not making these things for maximum precision. I'm making them for maximum fun.

  • Cool, Camie!  Lemme know when you've posted it.  I built another double stack but I couldn't make it sound right.  The bridge/tailpiece assembly ended up being rather clumsy and buzzy.  You live and you learn, right?  I'll probably use some of the parts from that failed attempt to try another doubled box.\

  • MVS:  Ifinished my 3ripple stack, inspired by your 2ubble stack, i'll be posting photos for the next week, hope you likr it. Cam out

  • Thanks, Camie.  I actually sold it to someone at work this week.  Got another double stacked box ready for a neck and pickup.

  • nice double stack. I am currently working  on a 3hree stack.

  • very cool!  the more you build, the better you will get---I've sold a few just to buy more parts, and I've gifted a bunch to friends and family, and I have over a dozen in my personal collection!!! I'm definitely building for fun!!!!!!!

  • The fun factor is what makes these things so addictive.

  • sweet . ;-)
