Cigar Box Ukulele number 2. Rocky Patelle box, cherry neck with curly maple fretboard and maple 'ears'. First scarf-joint neck I've made. Gold frets and gold tuners from Gitty. Brass sound-hole trim ring and brass rod bridge. Plexiglas saddle and nut. 17" scale Tenor size. With Piezo pickup.

  • Make a good solid jig. Face it with sandpaper so your neck can't move. I use 15 degrees which seems pretty much the standard for all the guitars I own. Clamp the neck real solid. Check your blade with a drawing/drafting triangle, it has to be dead on 90 degrees. Make the cut slow and easy. Watch the fingers!!
