  • Thanks for the info. I really like the gold hardware too, sometimes hard to find the right box to use it on. the flickering candles for inside lites is an awesome idea. Have used LED's before but got to try this now. great looking guitar, nice work Scot.

  • It's a 4 string, 25" scale. Left hand oriented, as I'm a lefty. Really loved the box and thought gold hardware would look nice.

Has a humbucker pickup wired so that you can switch it to single coil. Volume, tone. controls strat style hardtail bridge using only the inner 4 saddles. Sound hole covers are bathtub drain covers. Inside the sound holes I velcro attached some flickering led candles. Looks pretty cool in low lighting. If nothing else it's a pretty cool night light. ha ha

Neck is a nice flamey maple found at a Lowe's. Brought out the flameyness by rubbing in some true oil, then added a a glossy polyurethane finish, but kinda hard to see in this pic. Fret markers are just drawn with a pen. Put in some work installing frets, filing & sanding the ends to make them smooth as i could. Then once I got it strung up I noticed the action was way too high. lowered the bridge as much as possible, but strings were still to high to use the frets. Apparently the neck is bowed just enough that i didn't really notice until the strings were put on.

But it sounds pretty good, and perfectly playable as a slide guitar. As the neck is bolted on, maybe I'll make a new neck someday with playable frets. But then again, it's fine a a slide guitar as is.
