  • No, sorry--it doesn't look like much. The only dedicated part is the wood with the glass cutter bolted to it. I just grab the other random stuff and clamp it up when I cut bottles. Next time I have to cut bottles I'll take a photo.

  • got a pic?

  • I've got a similar set-up, but simpler. I stick a screwdriver in a hole on the back of the bench, position the opening of the bottle on it, and then apply pressure on the end of the bottle to keep it centered on the handle, and turn it while pressed against a cutter bolted to a piece of wood clamped to the bench.

Boiling water/cold water, and pop it goes. I clean it up by hand on a whet stone.

Bonus: First cut the bottom of the bottle off just before the tape starts, then trim the neck off. The body of the bottles makes nice, heavy glasses, or candle holders to line your walkway with for the holidays.

  • Yeah, I tried hard wood = sound too soft, bone, cant get a piece thick enough to turn, bottle sound the best for me, but i like the bone, wood mix combos, euro cows not big enough!

  • Brilliant made, good call!

  • cuts to a near perfect circle, then I use the hot/ cold water technic , 8 out of 10 are good to use. remount on the lathe, power up to clean up sharp edges

  • Nice setup, how effective is it?
