Thanks, will do. I keep looking at power tools: mostly a bench saw and drill press, but keep spending the money on wood, fret wire, etc. :) And it is more fun, as I said.

I love the banjo style headstock, mostly love making them because they take a lot of time, all of which is the fun type of time (I have no router, no saw... band, scroll, or jig, just hand rasps, files and chisels). The next one I make is for my girlfriend and she wants that look, just wasn't aware of options out there.
How do y'all find the low ratio tuners like those 4:1 vs the much higher ratio guitar tuners? I didn't want to go with friction tuners, but seems people must find 4:1 OK or they'd offer higher ratios instead.

Oh, one problem: didn't know at the time that tuners should always have their gears toward the tail end of the guitar to reduce play in the gears. This headstock needs tuners upside down for the top two.... so I guess I'll just have to save up for some real (expensive) geared banjo tuners.

A little expensive, but you get that old time friction peg look with the convenience of a geared peg.
