  • At first I wasn't getting a lot of volume, so I put three more holes on the other side of the neck - but then I went to tune it (checking against an actual tuner) and found out my low G string was actually tuned all the way down to C.  Tightened it up, and I got much better volume.

I'm glad I found your videos, because like I said in other posts it only took me a couple hours to build the thing, but now that it's done I'm not happy with the action being so high.  I keep replacing the nut and the bridge with various objects to try and lower it, but that's just a personal preference kind of thing, I guess.

I've "endorsed" your method though on the Crow video discussions here and at handmademusic.  So kudos for encouraging me and countless others to build their first CBG!  Your videos do make it really easy!

  • excellent job!! i'm so glad the build method worked for you! how does it sound?
