Yes if you buy you buy frets from gitty then get a pack of the jumbo bass fret and check the height of it. Then I like to use the medium medium frets for the rest as long as they are shorter then you can really dial in your action. The main thing is you never have to file a slot in a bone nut again! Now you can add a bone nut behind the zero fret like the big manufacturers do but it would be just for looks and only divide the strings for you and you don't have to be as careful about the depth of each string slot just the spacing from side to side. I just hammer some brass nails in there or you could use screws or any number of other things. On my big slides I use a piece of hard wood the same way behind my zero fret.
It doesn't have a nut it has a zero fret that is a big jumbo bass fret and then the little brass nails are what seperate the strings. I used to make real bone nuts but once I figured out this way I won't ever make another nut LoL
I like the minimal look...and the darker areas around the nails...metal blackener is a favourite of mine do you have a close up of the head?..the nut looks interesting...or is it my eyesight..

I like it...it must eliminate any buzz at that end...what are you using for zero fret...bass fret?
