Homemade Cherry box with Cedar fingerboard. The pick-up is also homemade from a cell phn charger and a magnet. The Altoids can lid works very well.

    To Jeff,Jon and Jeremiah, Thanks for the questions and comments. I Broke the cover off the cell phn charger (very carefully) w/ a hammer. Removed the metal from the coil, after testing the coil for continuity I put a bolt through the top of the Altoids can lid,through the coil and put a nut on the bolt. After that I attached a magnet to the bolt. I soldered a leads to the coil, then to the volume control, and 1/4in jack. To my surprise it sounds great. I will try to make a video soon to demonstrate.

    I'm really curious about how you made the pickup too - I have at least three or four cell phone chargers laying around just waiting for a new purpose in life.

    Beautifully crafted box.
    I'd love to hear just how you wired up the charger/magnet combo to create a working pickup.
