I haven't been able to find a regular supply of nice maple (I shop Home Depot/Lowes). I've been using a combination of Red Oak and Poplar. The Maple is just so much nicer than the Poplar.
Good to know. I've only put a finish on one of my guitars (I know...horrible) and it was tung oil. I like your spray though. It looks very professional.
Thanks! This is so simple...sand, sand, sand and then sand some more....we went down to 320 grit on hard maple, then used 0000 steel wool. The finish is spray lacquer. Just as is from a can. Multiple coats, rubbed down with the 0000 steel wool between coats...that's it. done between late yesterday evening and lunchtime today...

I do use and almost went with Tung oil..I just wanted the gloss to pop..
