The humbucker pickup worked beautifully right away,and installing the potentiometers was trivial. The pickups themselves slid easily under the strings, and I simply screwed them to the front cover (about 5mm below strings). The ground wire from the wiring loom is connected to the aluminum string anchor. But after a couple of days I noticed a small hum from the amp when I wasn't touching the strings, and if I had the treble tone controls set on max for the amp and the bass. So, decided to shield the electronics. The grounding was fine (as indicated by the hum being silenced when I touched the strings, shielding the bass with my body).
