I used oak quarter round to reinforce the sides of the box. It is solid as a rock. It's very loud, sounds like a standard acoustic guitar. Thanks for the comments, it's nice to have your work appreciated.
That's lovely! I must admit I'm a bit surprised that you didn't need a neck block of some kind and could simply bolt the neck on to the box like that.
