I tried that the first time and it didn't make much sense I had alot of left over fretboard by the end of the body the template stopped to soon. Second one I copied a fretboard from a electric but it didn't turn out right either. I would like to build a few license plate reso's but if I can't get the fretboard figured out I'm stuck. I figured if you had one I could just copy it over and over.
Hi Gary...Welcome abourd....What kind of problems are you having? I use Fretfinder to make my fretboards....You put in the scale length and the number of frets you want and it prints out a 1, 2 or 3 piece fretboard, depending on the length....cut along the 2nd & 3rd registry lines and tape the cut line to the registry line on 2 & 1 and you can lay it on the fretboard and mark where you are going to cut the frets. I cut my frets with a electric jig saw using the smallest blade, which is .02 or 3 thinner that a fret tine....They never come out. We are going to have our next meeting in February. I should be posting it soon.
