I just finished my 3rd build and Im really chuffed with the way it sounds, its fitted with two piezos one under the bridge for clarity and one a bit further along the lid/soundboard for a bit of 'air', this got me thinking, is it possible to use two…

Tom,
thanks for getting back to me. I'm new to the whole cigar box thing. In fact, I'm new to fingerpicking as well. I've been playing for years with a plectrum and am only now trying to teach myself fingerpickin and am finding getting on top of the metal piks a bit of a chore. I;m working through some Stefan Grossman instructional material on Mississippi John Hurt. I;ve got about 5 songs down...but still make little mistakes here and there, although I am up to temo.
I'm also working of a Bob Brozman kapstyle instruction DVD as well...and have just bought an entry level weissenborn copy called a "LarkFat Boy" You can see it on youtube...if you google it.
Point is. I'm only learning. I've ordered some cigar boxes and plan to try my hand at a little three string. But Cole Clark makes a really good looking little lapstyle guitar called the laptdog humbucker that I thought I may like to try to copy. I happen to have access to a really good supply of Aussie hardwoods and depending on weight and stuff thought it'd be worth having a go at.
I;m keen to here your little guitar...let me know when you post a video. I've looked at others on this site and don't really go for the larger ones with big square necks under the fingerboard...prefer the sleeker, guitar shape of yours...it's like the cole clark. You may not be ware of him, but he's a fine Australian luthier...worth checking out. I'm sure you like his lapdog humbucker.
Nice to chat.
cheers,

Really cool tom.
I'm really keen to pick yours brains about this little "beast"...what's the scale length...are the humbuckerss...what is the timber...what timber did you use for body as against fretboard...is the timber critical to the sound...could you make one of these guitars out of hardwood?
Loved it...would love to hear what it sounds like...video???
cheers,
David T
