Hello all: I'm getting ready to (attempt to) build a CB violin. I have a cheap fiddle that I can use to check tolerances and stuff but what I'm Wresting with is how to attach the neck (its an actual violin neck) to the box and how much bracing I'll n
Hi all: This was my 11th CBG and most of them have been mag p/u guitars just because I've had no luck what so ever with piezos. On this one I thought I'd give piezos another shot. I've tried all kinds of configuations...double taping them to the box
I found a couple of magnetic pickups at a garage sale for next to nothing but they have 3 wires on them. I have only worked with P/U's with 2 wires. What's the 3rd on for?

Second build is a 4 string. Progessing great. Trying to find somewhere around here (Columbus, Ohio) to buy curtain grommets. Also trying to decide how I want to "electrify" this one. I used the radio shack piezo on the first one but I get alot of nec
Need some opinions on whether or not I can get by with the typical 1 x 2 piece of oak for a four (4) string neck. Do you think the strings would be too close?
Is there any reason why you couldn't fret the fretboard before glueing it to the neck. I was thinking that if I did it this way and I happened to botch up the fret job I wouldn't be ruining the whole build. I'd just be ruining the fret board. Any tho
