I started with 36" and changed later to 48" and cut them off a little so the strings would fit. The bass string is a 70 or 72. Tuning is B,B, F#, B. That's how Lenny taught me to tune them. Some of the artists who have them change to G. What ever you prefer. I haven't made one in a while. I don't have mine right now. I have just retired and moved to Mexico and my stuff is in transit. Mine is also the first one that i built. It's the shorter version.
Thank you for your interest in my guitars. The necks are 1 1/8 dia. dowels. Oak, Maple, and mahogany. I'm working on being more of a musician but I don't know the scale. A real good friend taught me how to make the guitars. I made them and can tune them and scratch out a little noise. I can't a song at all. Yet! I just retired and will be learning to play. Be sure to send me a pic when you finish your guitar.
